Kabul / The first foreign commercial aircraft arrives since the Taliban took control of Afghanistan
A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) plane landed at Kabul airport marking the first international trade flight since the Taliban took power in Afghanistan last month.
It was not immediately clear whether the PIA flight was classified as a regular commercial flight or a special commercial charter.
An ANP spokesman said at the weekend that the airline was keen to resume regular commercial services, but was too quick to say how often flights would be operated between the two capitals.
“This is a great moment for me after a long time since the change of institution in Kabul,” Jaad Zafar, head of operations at the ANP, told AFP on Monday.
