Italy plans to start administering boosting doses of COVID-19 vaccines to certain groups of the population starting September 20, Health Minister Roberto Speranza and government pandemic commissioner Francesco Figliuolo announced today.
“First, the doses will be made available to those with weakened immune systems,” they said, after the measure was recommended by scientists at the Italian Drug Agency and the government’s special task force for the pandemic.
Officials are now clarifying how to arrange the start of third vaccines.
