The United Arab Emirates (UAE) over the next decade is looking at economic relations with Israel over a trillion dollars.
“We have 600 to 700 million dollars of bilateral trade. “We have billions of dollars in funding announced jointly between the two countries, we are moving into so many areas of economic opportunity,” said UAE Economy Minister Abdullah Bin Touq at a virtual conference hosted by the Atlantic Council. in Washington.
He said the goal is to “create over $ 1 trillion in economic activity over the next decade.”
The announcement came as the Gulf state and Israel mark the first anniversary since normalizing relations last year.
The UAE was joined by three other Arab states, Bahrain, Morocco and Sudan, in normalizing the contradictions in relations with Israel, in what became known as the “Abraham Accords”.
The Palestinians stressed that the steps were a “backlash” after they betrayed the Palestinian people.
Bin Touq added that since the normalization of relations between the UAE and Israel, more than 60 memoranda of understanding have been signed.
He hailed the “Abraham Accords” for providing a platform to make extraordinary and rapid achievements in boosting economic activity between the UAE and Israel.AA
