Thousands of immigrants have set up a makeshift camp on the United States side of the southern border, under a bridge that connects Texas with Mexico.
Late Thursday, the mayor of Del Rio Texas said 10,503 migrants were under the Del Rio International Bridge which connects Ciudad Acuna, Mexico – from 8,200 in the morning.
Those staying at the camp have told reporters that water and food are scarce, with some crossing the Rio Grande River and returning to Mexico to supply essential items they say they are not getting from the US.
Many have told reporters that they have received tickets from US border officials and are waiting to be processed.
