Japan has decided to apply the third dose of the antiCOVID-19 vaccine, according to the Kyodo news agency, which is based on sources from the Ministry of Health.
“The COVID-19 Advisory Board has discussed the plan to apply the third dose of the vaccine in the fight against pandemic variants,” the news agency reported.
The board discussed claims that six months after the second dose, antibodies produced against COVID-19 are lost and that the vaccine loses its effectiveness against various variants, including Delta.
Taking into account the calls of vaccine manufacturers for the necessity of the third dose, the board in question decided to put into practice the planning for taking the third booster dose.
