Two Indian Army pilots have lost their lives after their helicopter crashed while landing today in a dense forest area of Jammu district and Kashmir region, Udhampur, officials said.
In a statement, the Indian military said two pilots, a major and a captain, succumbed to their injuries after the helicopter crashed while landing at a training ground.
Earlier, Indian Army spokesman Lt. Col. Devender Anand said: “Today during training, an Indian Army Cheetah helicopter crashed while landing in the Shiv Garh Dhar area of Udhampur district. “Two pilots were seriously injured and were evacuated to hospital.”
Helicopter wreckage was later found in the dense forest of the Shiv Garh Dhar area by residents and a rescue operation was launched.AA
