At least 12 people were killed and 22 others were injured Sunday in an attack by Iranian-backed Houthi militias in northwestern Yemen.
In a statement, local authorities condemned the “horrific crime” committed by the Houthi rebels during a ceremony in the town of Midi in Hajjah province, marking the 59th anniversary of the September 26, 1962 revolution, the official Saba news agency reported.
The statement called on the international community, local, regional and international legal institutions to condemn the terrorist act and to list the Houthi movement as a terrorist organization.
Yemen has been plagued by violence and chaos since 2014, when Houthi rebels invaded most of the country, including the capital Sanaa.AA
