Until an Islamic environment is created, women will not be allowed to attend classes or work at Kabul University.
The announcement was made by the new school-appointed deputy chancellor of the Taliban on his official Twitter account.
“As long as the true Islamic environment is not provided for everyone, women will not be allowed to come to universities or work. “Islam first”, said Mohammad Ashraf Ghairat.
Earlier, Ghairat posted on Twitter that the university was working on a plan to accommodate teachers, but did not say when that plan would end.
“Due to the lack of female teachers, we are working on a plan for male teachers to be able to teach female students with a curtain in the classroom. “In this way, an Islamic environment would be created for all students,” Ghairat wrote on Twitter.
