Croatia has tightened rules for employees in the healthcare and social services sector due to rising infections.
“From Monday, all employees in these sectors will have to prove that they have been vaccinated or treated by Covid-19 when entering their offices,” the Civil Protection Directorate ordered.
“Anyone who is unable to provide this evidence should be tested for coronavirus twice within seven days,” the new regulation said.
The rules also apply to patients visiting hospitals, reception centers or doctors’ offices, while emergency cases are excluded.
Coronavirus infections are on the rise in Croatia.
Last week, 192.6 new infections were recorded per 100,000 inhabitants.
Croatia, a tourist destination on the Adriatic, has lagged behind when it comes to vaccinations.
Only 42% of the population is fully vaccinated.ATSH
