The Prime Minister of New Zealand, Jacinda Ardern, stated that instead of continuing the fight against the Delta variant of the new coronavirus (COVID-19), the Council of Ministers has accepted the use of vaccination certificates.
According to Radio New Zealand, Prime Minister Ardern made statements regarding the vaccination certificate that will prove that the citizens of New Zealand have been vaccinated against COVID-19.
She said that the citizens of New Zealand from next month will start using the digital vaccine certificate coded with QR, which will also be considered as a “vaccination passport”.
“Please get vaccinated now. So take the full dose (two doses) of the vaccine, to be completely protected from the virus. “To do the things you want, you need to be vaccinated this month, not in December.”
Stating that they will make a more detailed explanation of how the new app will work soon, Ardern said they do not plan to use the vaccine certificates in places such as health services and supermarkets.
In New Zealand, which has been shown to be one of the most successful countries in the fight against COVID-19, in the last 24 hours, 26 people, two of whom returned home from abroad, were diagnosed with COVID-19.
Out of 308 active cases in the country, 27 of them continue to be treated in hospital.
In New Zealand, 4,408 cases of COVID-19 have been reported so far, while 27 of those infected have lost their lives.AA
