According to a report by the Iranian Foreign Ministry on Thursday, Amirabdollahian, who is now in Lebanon, held the meeting in the middle of the day.
At the meeting, Amirabdollahian discussed the Islamic Republic of Iran’s position on international and regional developments, the dialogue between Tehran and several foreign and Arab states, and the negotiation process on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
In Beirut, which is Amirabdollahian’s first visit to Lebanon as Iran’s new foreign minister, he voiced Iran’s strong support for the country.
He noted that the Islamic Republic is ready to provide comprehensive support to Lebanon in the current difficult economic conditions.
The foreign minister also met with the speaker of the Lebanese parliament.
According to Lebanese media, the Iranian foreign minister and his delegation arrived in Beirut on Thursday.
