The Spanish government is planning to offer young people 250 euros a month. This, is seen as an aid for this category, for paying the rent. This was announced by the Prime Minister of this country Pedro Sanchez.
It is proposed to allocate 250 euros per month to young people aged 18 to 35 who earn less than 23,725 euros per year, in order to help them pay the rent for the house or apartment.
Other proposals also include limiting the rental price for landlords who own a lot of real estate, in order to help young people pay the rent in major cities.
Real estate in Spain is known for its high prices, so almost every young person is forced to live with their parents due to high rent, low wages and high unemployment rate.
On average in Spain young people leave their parents’ home after the age of 30, and in EU countries this average is 26.4 years.
This law that Sanchez is proposing will be made public and will be discussed by the deputies in the Parliament, whose approval would mean that the law could enter into force this year.
