A powerful earthquake, with a magnitude of 6.8 on the Richter scale, hit the coast of Alaska this Monday.
According to foreign media, its epicenter was about 71 miles east of Chinik city. The tremors were felt by residents along the Alaska Peninsula and Kodiak Island, but fortunately, so far there is no threat of a tsunami.
Recall that this earthquake comes a day after another seismic tremor with magnitude 6.2 hit the island of Hawaii. Thankfully, there were no injuries or property damage from either quake.
