Nicolas Chaillan, a former key software official at the US Department of Defense, has said the United States has already lost ground to China in the field of artificial intelligence.
In several comments to the British daily, the Financial Times, Chaillan, who resigned earlier this month in protest of what he called the slow path of US military technological development, said the United States has not “Opportunity to compete against China in the next 15 or 20 years.”
“It simply came to our notice then. “In my opinion, it is a done deal,” he said. Chaillan also said that cyber security in some government departments in the US is at the “kindergarten level”. Currently, China is the second largest economy in the world and is rapidly working to develop technology, including artificial intelligence, genetics and artificial biology.
