An evacuation alert was issued at Manchester airport, following reports of a suspicious package being found.
According to an eyewitness to the Manchester Evening News network, his family was evacuated from Terminal 2.
However, there was no atmosphere of tension when people left the surrounding shops in the airport area. Police are going to the scene to investigate the incident, while it has not yet been clarified what contained the package.
