Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday ordered more restrictions on public life in a bid to stem the spread of the coronavirus.
According to a document published on the Kremlin website, restaurants, bars and clubs should be closed between 23:00 and 6:00 in the morning.
Putin also said that workers who are vaccinated should have two days off work.
Meanwhile, from Monday, six regions of Russia started the holiday period, which will last until November 7.
From Saturday, the holiday week will start all over Russia.
Putin said workers should be paid on days when they will not go to work.
Russia has the highest number of coronavirus deaths in Europe – 227,506 – and the fourth highest in the world, after the United States, Brazil and India.
According to official statistics, over 37,900 new cases of infection were confirmed in Russia on Monday – more than ever before.
Authorities also reported 1,069 casualties in the last 24 hours. Only 35 percent of Russia’s nearly 146 million people have been fully vaccinated
