French police have shot dead a man at the Saint-Lazare train station in Paris. The incident occurred after he was detained for not wearing a mask and then refused to follow orders from officials Monday night. He shouted “Allahu Akbar” and “France is ruled by the Islamic State”.
The man then pulled out his knife and attacked the four policemen shouting “Allahu Akbar. “France is ruled by the Islamic State” before being shot twice in the chest. He fell on the rails and was taken to hospital, where he is in critical condition, reports the Daily Mail.
According to the identity documents found on his body, the suspect was born in 1974 and was known to the police as the cause of threats of previous violence, but was not known to the intelligence services.
