At least 29 civilians have been killed in a rocket attack by rebels in Yemen’s central Marib province, the government has said.
Two ballistic missiles hit a residential neighborhood in the Al-Jubah district, south of Marib, late Sunday, local authorities in Marib said in a statement.
The statement did not provide further details and did not comment from the Houthi rebel group.
On Thursday, the Yemeni government accused the Houthi rebels of killing 13 civilians in a rocket attack on the Al-Jubah district in Marib.
Since February, Iran-linked Houthi rebels have stepped up attacks to take control of the oil-rich province of Marib, one of the legitimate strongholds of the legitimate government and home to the Yemeni Ministry of Defense headquarters.
Yemen has been plagued by violence and instability since 2014, when Houthi rebels invaded most of the country, including the capital Sanaa.
