British Prince Andrew should be ready for civil proceedings next year on charges of sexually abusing Virginia Geoffrey when she was less than 18 and when, as authorities claim, she was abused by the now-deceased businessman Jeffrey Epstein.
Kaplan expects the trial of Jeffrey’s civil suit to begin in the period from September to December next year.
“I will consider starting in September, but the goal is for the period from October to December,” Kaplan told a news conference with Prince Andrew and Goeffrey’s lawyers.
In August, Geoffrey, 38, sued Prince Andrew. She alleges the prince forced her to have sex in London at the home of Gislen Maxwell, a longtime Epstein collaborator, and abused her with him at Epstein’s villa in Manhattan and on one of Epstein’s private islands in the US Virgin Islands. .
Prince Andrew, 61, denied the allegations made by Juffrey and called on Judge Kaplan to dismiss the lawsuit, cnn reports.
Epstein committed suicide in August 2019 in a Manhattan jail while awaiting trial on sexual exploitation charges.
