United States President Joe Biden said Saturday that the historic $ 1 trillion infrastructure package approved by Congress Friday will create millions of jobs. Speaking at the White House, President Biden called the week “Infrastructure Week.” Former President Donald Trump had declared “Infrastructure Week” in 2018, but failed to pass such a bill despite making several efforts during his presidency.
Mr Biden said he would sign the bipartisan bill “soon” turning it into an official ceremony with the participation of all those who worked for it, both Democrats and Republicans. Americans will see the effects of the law in the coming months, he said. The bipartisan infrastructure law will create jobs in projects to modernize roads and bridges, as well as transform the country’s transport system, he said.
The 228 to 206 vote that took place late Friday in the House of Representatives is a triumph for President Biden’s Democrats, who had debated for months on ambitious spending proposals that make up the bulk of his domestic agenda.
