An American baby born in the 21st week has been described as the first baby in the world to be born prematurely so quickly. Curtis Means, was born in Alabama last year and weighed only 420 grams. He is currently 16 months old and has just entered the Guinness Book of Records.
The baby’s mother, Michelle Butler, was born on July 4, 2020, on Independence Day. She was pregnant with two twins, but one died the day after giving birth.
Even for Curtis, the doctors said that there is very little chance of survival, and for days he remained locked in the intensive care unit. Fortunately, the baby survived and is now in perfect health.
“Being able to take Curtis home and surprise my older children with their younger brother is a moment I will always remember,” said the baby’s mother.
