Egypt on Monday banned unvaccinated officials and students against Covid-19 from government offices and universities unless they show a negative PCR test.
Officials who have not been vaccinated must show a PCR test, which is extremely expensive in Egypt, “every three days to get to their place of work,” the tourism and antiquities ministry said after a government order was issued. .
The same rules will apply to students entering universities, the state-run Al-Ahram newspaper reported.
The North African nation said the restrictions would take effect on December 1st.
About 40 million of the population of 102 million have received at least one dose of the vaccine, according to acting health minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar.
Only 14 million have received the two full doses.
