Teenager Kyle Rittenhouse was acquitted by a court on a charge of premeditated murder and four other charges related to killing two people and injuring another during the riots in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
The verdict came after a trial that lasted about two weeks, where Rittenhouse defended himself by saying he had killed those two people in self-defense.
“I have done nothing wrong. “I just defended myself,” said Rittenhouse.
The teenager, who was only 17 at the time, took an AR-15 rifle and joined a group of gunmen in Kenosha on August 25, 2020. There, Rittenhouse shot and killed Joseph Rosenbaum, who was followed him. When the crowd attacked, Rittenhouse also killed Anthony Huber, who hit him with a “skateboard”.
Also wounded was Gaige Grosskreutz, who was armed with a pistol.
