At least 14 people have been shot dead in a bar in the South African township of Soweto, police say.
According to police reports, gunmen entered the Orlando East Tavern in the early hours of Sunday morning and began shooting randomly at a group of young people.
Afterwards, they left the scene in a white minibus, while the reasons for the terrible attack are unknown.
Nine people are in critical condition in hospital, Nomsa Maseko reports BBC.
The victims are believed to be between the ages of 19 and 35.
Gauteng provincial police chief Lieutenant-General Elias Mawela told the BBC that the shooting appeared to have been “a cold-blooded attack on innocent patrons of the tavern”.
