After the heat with record temperatures, heavy rainfall has recently hit the French capital Paris causing serious concerns.
Heavy rain and strong winds caused major flooding in the streets of Paris. Local authorities were forced to shut down subways as many stations were swept away by the flood wave.
This situation hampered the circulation of vehicles and motorcycles causing heavy traffic on the main axes of the country. For a few moments, Paris resembled Venice, where the vehicles of road traffic looked like water engines.
As “Le Figaro” reported, the flooding in Paris came after an abnormal heat wave that had gripped the country for more than three weeks. According to La Chaîne Météo, the average rainfall density reached between 10 and 40 mm in less than an hour, which can be compared to the amount of rain that could fall over the course of two or three weeks.
