An internal investigation has been opened at Rockingham General Hospital in Perth (Australia) to shed light on the sad story of 55-year-old Kevin Reid who ended up in the morgue while he was still alive. The man, who had been admitted to the hospice, was pronounced dead on September 5 not by a doctor but by several nurses on the ward. So he was put in a black body bag and transported to the hospital morgue. The living man seems to have tried to get rid of that sack, but in vain.
Wrongly pronounced dead at a hospital in Perth, Australia, Reid was taken to the hospital’s morgue. The next day, however, a doctor found his bag open. The 55-year-old had fresh blood coming out of a wound on his arm. In addition, the man was found with his eyes open, while the staff took care to close them before putting him in the black bag.
The news was announced by Australian justice. This is unfortunately not the first episode of this kind to happen. But in other cases, fortunately, there were other results. A 45-year-old man in India was found still alive by family members who rushed to the morgue after spending the night in the cold room. The same fate for an old man in Shanghai, China.
