The British Ministry of Defense has published its daily update on the situation on the ground in Ukraine, a day after a wave of coordinated missile attacks.
The Ministry of Defense described the appointment of General Sergei Surovikin as “general commander” of the Russian “special military operation” in Ukraine on October 8.
He said: “Surovikin’s appointment likely reflects an effort by the Russian national security community to improve the delivery of the operation.
“However, he is likely to compete with an increasingly factionalized Russian Defense Ministry, which is poorly resourced to achieve the political objectives that have been set in Ukraine.”
