WHEREAS NATO defense ministers met for the second day of talks on the crisis in Ukraine today in Brussels, a large number of people gathered outside the headquarters of the defense alliance in protest against the war.
Some were seen wearing the Ukrainian flag as they stood in the Belgian capital, while others held placards condemning the Russian president.
During a press conference today, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that any use of nuclear weapons by Russia in Ukraine would have serious consequences, but did not go into detail about how the alliance would respond.
Stoltenberg also said NATO would remain “very vigilant” in the coming weeks as Russia conducts its nuclear drills.
