Andriy Yermak, head of Ukraine’s President’s Office, said Ukraine has returned 20 more soldiers as part of a prisoner exchange.
“Another exchange of prisoners, another moment of joy and understanding that today will be one of the best days in life for many families. We managed to free 20 people from captivity,” said Yermak.
According to him, Ukraine has returned 14 soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, four soldiers of the territorial defense, one soldier of the National Guard and one soldier of the Navy. Among them are people whom the Russians kept in Olenivka, in the temporarily occupied territories of the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions. Those released are undergoing medical check-up.
It later emerged that the Ukrainians freed from Russian captivity include servicemen of a patrol battalion of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. This was announced by the Coordinating Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War in Telegram.
On October 11, Yermak said Ukraine returned 32 soldiers and the body of Israeli national Dmytro Fialka as part of a prisoner exchange.
